Wānaka Airport
In 2024 we worked with the Wānaka Airport User Group to help their 150-strong community of businesses, employees and individuals envision their future. WAUG wanted a clear, shared idea of what “success” looks like for the airport in the long term. They asked Shaping Our Future to guide this process with the upcoming QLDC masterplanning process in mind.
We ran a workshop at the airport attended by 38 people, and also set up an online survey so more could share their views about current issues, future goals and what kind of airport they want. After hearing everyone’s views we drew up a draft vision statement that the WAUG reviewed and approved.
