Frankton

In 2018 we worked with the Frankton Community Association and Queenstown Lakes District Council on a forum to inform QLDC’s Frankton Master Plan.

The forum brought together over 100 people. Through guided activities they shared what they love about Frankton, their hopes for the future, the issues they face and possible solutions. At the time, airport growth and proposed noise boundary changes were a big concern, with noise, traffic, parking and pressure on services coming through strongly.

Overall, people spoke about their their wishes for a healthy environment, a welcoming and connected community and infrastructure that can keep up with growth. Many also asked for better transport options, more affordable housing and a stronger community voice in planning.
