Thank you to the over 60 people that attended our Steven Burgess masterclass and/or presentation. Steven bought a wealth of knowledge and thought provoking information on how we can make sure our towns and cities prosper, have a sense of community and strong local economy.

Steven is a leading contributor to the planning, design and development of liveable cities. A Principle with boutique Australasian transportation consultancy MRCagney, Steven brings 30 years' experience as an engineer and urban strategist to the understanding of long-term relationships between urban form, mobility and vitality. Steven has worked on many village, town and city transformation projects in Australia, New Zealand, Africa and the Middle East.

Session 1 – Masterclass on streets, people and places in regional tourists cities (45 minute masterclass – 45 minutes workshop)
Thursday 7th September 2 - 3.30pm (cost $35pp)
I would like to attend the Steven Burgess Workshop
In this session we talk about the lost art of street design and how it relates to economically important towns such as Queenstown. We will talk about the relationships between the shape of a city/town and how it relates to its movement patters, its place quality and its long term future. We will discuss Queenstown’s top 3transport and land use issues and workshop some methodologies for addressing these issues. Naturally this will be done in the context of the work that is always going on with governments continually trying to improve urban places, in recognition of their economic importance.
Session 2 - Presentation - People Places and Parking (1 hour presentation- 30 mins Q&A)

In this session Steven will present on the current trends on improving mid-sized cities discussing, land uses, city shaping, place making, place measurement, movement and place, main streets, parking and touchstones for good town centre curation.
